Rick is “of counsel” at Sheats & Bailey, PLLC. Rick’s practice primarily focuses on representing closely held and family-owned entities with their business transaction and taxation needs. He frequently meets with business owners to discuss the most tax favorable business structures along with ways to propel the younger generation into future ownership roles. Rick also offers a valuable service to Sheats & Bailey clients by auditing client project files to set up procedures to obtain New York State sales tax exemptions.

In addition, Rick is General Counsel to a national contractor and has also owned his own construction company. Because Rick works in the construction industry, he has firsthand knowledge of the real-world issues that arise on the jobsite and in the office.
