DIANA PLUE

Diana is a senior associate at Sheats & Bailey, PLLC.  Diana’s practice is mainly concentrated in the areas of Construction Law and Employment Law.  Prior to her entrance in the legal field, Diana worked for a trade contractor installing fire alarms, security systems and cameras.  Today, Diana represents general contractors, trade contractors, owners, design professionals and insurance companies located throughout the United and States and Canada in all aspects of construction law including contract drafting and negotiations, liens and bond claims and litigation of contract disputes.  She has successfully handled a variety of matters before state courts, federal courts, arbitration panels as well as mediation and private negotiations.

 

Diana’s Employment Practice is focused on assisting companies in staying compliant with constantly changing employment laws and advising companies on labor matters.  Diana performs internal audits of a company’s human resource practices and record keeping to ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations in an effort to mitigate future legal risks for non-compliance.  She advises clients on changing legislation and assists businesses in preparing employment documents such has handbooks, employment contracts and anti-discrimination and harassment policies.  She represents clients before the Department of Labor and other administrative agencies.  Diana frequently conducts in-house sexual harassment trainings.  She performs seminars on sexual harassment and various employment topics for contractors and contractor associations.

In addition to her construction and employment law practice, Diana maintains an active practice in the areas of M/WBE certifications and appeals, commercial and residential real estate, corporate and business law including advising not-for-profits and commercial litigation.  Diana also is active in her community, coaching youth sports,as a member of the local parent teacher association and as a director on the board of a not-for-profit that aids in sending children to summer camps.  

 

Diana is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as the Northern District of New York and Western District of New York.
