JASON B. BAILEY

JASON B. BAILEY
SHEATS & BAILEY, PLLC

Jason’s practice at Sheats & Bailey PLLC is focused on commercial and industrial construction litigation and he has represented a variety of clients including general contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, suppliers, owners, engineers and architects. Although Jason’s practice is focused on just commercial and industrial construction litigation, the clients within that range are diversified; he represents well drillers, window manufacturers, pre-casters, steel fabricators, masons, electricians, site work contractors, demolition and asbestos abatement contractors, dry-wallers and many more. Jason’s clients and the projects he is involved with are also geographically diversified ranging from New York, California, Virginia, Louisiana, Kansas, Montana, Ottawa, Toronto and Kitchener, just to name a few.

At any given time, Jason’s caseload consists of breach of contract claims, payment and performance bond claims, lien claims, trust fund actions, bid protests, delay and disruption claims, contract drafting and reviewing, claim preparation, as well as Department of State and Labor matters. Jason has significant experience in all phases of complex commercial construction litigation. He has extensive experience in all forms of pretrial litigation and all forms of discovery. Although Jason places great emphasis on negotiating a favorable resolution for his clients, he has significant trial experience in both State and Federal Court. If mediation and/or arbitration provide a better strategic option for the client, then Jason is very comfortable with guiding the client through those alternative dispute resolution options.

Jason is a firm believer that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. In that regard, Jason has conducted seminars teaching hundreds of contractors, subcontractors and others associated with the construction industry what to look for in contracts, how to manage their contracts and claims, how to avoid litigation and how to protect themselves during the project in case litigation becomes necessary.

Prior to joining the firm in February 2008, Jason’s practice focused on general litigation and environmental law with a firm in Syracuse, NY. Before Jason began practicing law, he operated his own small construction company that serviced Central New York and parts of Massachusetts.
